SPLís dry blending facilities are second to none for high quality and cost effective powder and granule mixing. All powder and granular blending utilise gentle action ribbon type agitation with central discharge. Our collection of blenders range from a 1 kg (lab scale) through to 100, 200, 400 and 1,000 kg blenders and are constructed from 316 grade stainless steel with an 80 grit internal polish finish.
Dry blending production is located in our UK D6 production plant providing ISO9000 certified facilities with full batch traceability, a safe working environment and cost effective manufacture. This is supported by an in-house analytical chemistry department providing in-process testing.
Separate temperature and humidity controlled clean room environments are utilised for moisture sensitive products or where there is risk of cross contamination.
Many SPL recipes contain minute quantities of trace ingredients. Consequently, it is imperative that the precise amounts of ingredients required are accurate. The importance of this can be demonstrated via the following example.
The composite of the SPL Trace Mix Nutrient requires only 3 grams of copper sulphate to be blended into every tonne of product. Any less than this will result in yeast nutrient starvation and any more than this will actually inhibit the yeast.
Quality performance is a commitment to excellence within SPL and therefore, to ensure no compromise in dry blending operations, our production plants have state of the art dry blending facilities and in-house analytical chemistry support for batch to batch verification.
